Sixteen Stories
Explorations into family, genealogy, and DNA
Welcome to Sixteen Stories!
This site grew out of my personal genealogy explorations. When my family tree got out of control, I decided to focus on a small group of people and the stories behind them. The journey and the discoveries it has uncovered have been fascinating, and I thought they might be interesting to others as well.
I also was blessed to come upon the journals of my great grandmother, Emma Troutman Boylan, which run from the mid-1920’s to 1954, just before her death. She lived through the Depression, World War II, and many changes in the world, and it’s fascinating to see it through her eyes.
Along the way, I have found some wonderful resources and learned some things about the process of uncovering family history that might be helpful to others. These are shared in my genealogy blog. I hope they will help you in your own quest to learn more about your own roots and their historical context.
